I didn't want to paint today. I'm not ready for the two big white canvases that arrived recently. I have something specific in mind for them. Normally I have no problem at all starting a new canvas. I just get stuck in, usually with an oil wash. Those two large canvases are different. I want to tell a story and I haven't done my homework yet so I'm hiding them from myself for now. Instead I took out the other big paintings that have been drying for a couple of weeks to check their progress. I think one is finished and the other is very close. It’s a nice feeling to come to the end of a piece and being ok with it..
It was a good day, best to leave while the going is good..
