Back in September The John Martin Gallery moved in to their brand new space on the first floor and I finally got a chance to go and see it last week. It's light, spacious and I can't wait to see my new work hanging in there. The current exhibition is work by the late Fred Yates. It was the first time I saw a solo show of his work.
Went to the Tate. I don't think I have been there in over a decade. I wanted to see the Auerbach exhibition but there was so much to drag myself away from getting there. Blown away on the way but I did make it to see the Auerbach show. More on that later.
This was such a flying visit that I am still dizzy from all the things I wanted to do. When I got to the Tate Modern I gave up on seeing the Calder because I didn't have enough time and I felt my brain was too full. It still took me a good hour to get out of the place. It's hard to walk past that much greatness without even stopping a minute.
Oh, and even the building works in the Tate look somehow arty.
